Who's the fastest at indexing a new site: MSN, Google, or Yahoo?
A blogs is definitely a great way to get new sites indexed. After I announced my new toolbar guide this morning, I started watching the logs to see which search engine would index it first. MSN was the first, about two hours after I posted. Google was two hours later than MSN. Yahoo! was two hours later than Google.
So far, all three have only indexed the site's home page so far. That was the page that was linked to from the blog, so perhaps if I had linked to other pages they would have been crawled immediately as well. Now that the home page has been crawled, however, the other pages should follow in the next few days.
Note that the home page does not yet appear in any of the search engine indexes, it's only been crawled by the engines. It'll be interesting to see where the pages rank once they're in the actual indexes. There's a lot of competition for toolbar information, much more than for Invisible Fence information.
