Update your copyright notices

January 5th, 2006 by Eric Giguere Leave a reply »

Don't forget that it's a new year. If you have a website or blog, take the time to update your copyright notices now. For pages that existed prior to 2006, you want to use the hyphenated form of the copyright notice, something like this:

Copyright ©2005-2006 Eric Giguere

For new pages you can just use the current year:

Copyright ©2006 Eric Giguere

Technically, you don't actually need the word “Copyright” as its redundant with the copyright symbol (whose HTML value is ©), but I like to have it there in case the copyright symbol gets munged for some reason.

Aside: For some reasons, Technorati doesn't seem to discover my new postings for the past two days. This seems to happen every once in a while, no clue why it does. Bloglines has no problem with them. Very odd and somewhat frustrating.
