It was designed to be short updates about the random things going on in people's lives, and it became popular because people DID want to read about other people. Then the spam exploded on it, bring it useless to the average user without getting loads on Direct Messages about some hair loss product. In the end, don't complain because there were some people who used it the way it was designed to be use.
