SuperSuggester: Free Keyword Tool For MEMWGA Readers (Only!)

August 7th, 2007 by Eric Giguere Leave a reply »

Today I’d like to introduce you to my new SuperSuggester tool. Written in Java — which means it works on Macintosh and Linux, not just Windows! — this simple tool generates various keyword phrases for you based on a root keyword. The phrases are generated using Google Suggest, similar to the way my online Google Suggest Explorer tool works. But this tool runs on your computer and it includes a more intelligent algorithm to generate those keywords. Here’s a screenshot showing some of the keywords it generates for “adsense”:

Using the tool is simplicity itself: once it’s installed (you need to download Java first) you just double-click it, enter the keyword or phrase you want suggestions for, and press the “Suggest!” button. It whirls away and gives you a list of suggestions.

The tool isn’t quite done yet in the sense that right now there’s no way to export the data that comes back and no way to sort it. I’ll be adding these and other features over the next few days. But the tool’s useful enough on its own right now, so please give it a try. A PDF with full installation and usage instructions is included.

So how do you get this tool? I thought you’d never ask… the tool is free but is only available to subscribers to this blog. If you’re not already a subscriber, please head over to my subscription page and either add the blog’s RSS feed to your feed reader or else subscribe to the email version of that feed. The download link — which will change on a regular basis — is found inside the feed. Just click it to download the ZIP file containing the tool and the manual.

As I said, expect updates to this tool in the coming week or so. Feedback is appreciated. Also, I may release other tools and/or reports this way. So please subscribe!

So…remind me again what those of us who are subscribers have to do to get our paws on this thing?

  2. Eric Giguere says:

Just look for the special link at the bottom of each post. It only shows up in the feed, not on the site itself.

Hello Eric – Its Hamant again
    My apologies

    I wanted to ask you
You have a real cool ” Only Wire ” Clickable link

Would you mind telling me how you get that on your wordpress – Is it a plug in?

    Thanks
Oh I will add it to only wire – this post I mean
    Take care

    Hamant

I use the Only-Wire plugin, but I had to modify it to automatically include the tags that I define with the Simple Tagging plugin.

nice tool eric… but one question..

where is the search count coming from?

    overture? wordtracker?

    thanks…

  6. Eric Giguere says:

That’s a mislabel, actually, it’s not a search count but a page count. The data comes from Google Suggest — it returns a page count with each suggestion. I’m going to release a new version of the tool shortly that fixes this and adds other features.

    Hi you all!
How do I download SuperSuggester tool?
    Glad to meet you!

You subscribe to the blog… that is, you go to http://www.memwg.com/subscribe/ and either add the RSS feed for this blog to your feed reader or else you enter your email address into the subscription form.

How can I add a “hidden” text to my blog? Do I need to modify feedburner feed or my wordpress blog?

  10. Eric Giguere says:

Currently I’m using the RSS Signature plugin, which adds a snippet of HTML to the bottom of each post in an RSS feed. It’s not perfect, however, because if I change the snippet all the posts in the feed get updated. So I may have to develop my own plugin for this.

The other alternative is to change the PHP file that generates the feeds, yes.

Eric, ol’ buddy, I have been an RSS subscriber for nigh onto two months. I’d like to try out SuperSuggester, but there ain’t nuthin’ that faintly resembles a link for the download. I been clickin’ but I ain’t found it yet… what am I missin’?

  12. Eric Giguere says:

What reader are you using? The link appears at the bottom of each post, but only in the feed. Anyhow, just drop me a note at ericgiguere@ericgiguere.com and I can send it to you.

    Eric
