OPAD Day 1

It’s Day 1 of the One Page A Day challenge. Those of you who’ve signed up (you can register for the challenge until February 8 by leaving a comment on that post) can leave your comments here publicizing your first day of content for the challenge. Remember that the content must be publicly available and you must link to it from the comment. (And why wouldn’t you? It gives you a nice backlink!) Don’t be concerned if your comment doesn’t appear immediately after you submit it, I expect many will be caught and held for moderation by my spam filter. I’ll manually approve them as quickly as I can.

If your content isn’t ready yet, no problem. Remember that you have until March 10 to leave a comment for each day of the challenge.

Here’s my contribution: I’ve dusted off my GeekAffiliate blog with the new post How Not To Launch A Product: AdSense Resurrected Post-Mortem. Now let’s see what everyone else has done!

Hi, Eric! Since I started my 30-day trial for Journaling a little earlier than the OPAD challenge, I’ll start out on the challenge here by posting the link for my entry for Day#3, and then I’ll just add a couple more days on to the end of my trial to even it out in the end. So it will be a 32-day challenge I think!

Anyway, the entry is at Journaling 30-day-trial, Day 3!

    Thanks!

My Day 1 post is on my DreamVisions dreamwork blog:

    http://www.dreamvisions.info/dream-types/one-way-work-with-dreams

I’ll probably rotate among my six active blogs, plus a few other new sites during this challenge.

Thanks again for this great opportunity!

Today, my first article of OPAD challenge was about the challenge and how important it is to write regularly. OK, I mentioned too that January was my best best month ever with AdSense – $1600!

It’s day one, and I’ve posted an article on the EldercareTeam.com website titled Every Elder Caregiver Has A Limit.

  5. Molly on February 1st, 2008 2:37 pm

Something strange happened to that link for the “Every Elder Caregiver Has A Limit Article. It’s at http://www.eldercareteam.com/resources/articles/caregiving-limits.htm

Sorry for the more or less duplicate post.

  6. Eric Giguere on February 1st, 2008 2:43 pm

I fixed it for you. There were some weird quotes used which seemed to mess up the link.

I posted an article titled A Valentine From the Heart

  9. Eric Giguere on February 1st, 2008 4:54 pm

    Great start folks!

For some reason the “DoFollow” plugin isn’t stripping the “nofollow” attribute from the links, so right now you’re not benefiting from PR… but I’ll get that fixed soon enough, so please keep adding your links. I don’t know when it stopped working, it’s odd, if anyone’s seen this before, let me know. I’ve upgraded to the latest (3.0) but it hasn’t helped.

  10. Eric Giguere on February 1st, 2008 4:55 pm

Nevermind, it’s working now. Link away!

We just got through a blizzard here and I’m getting a hankering to do some gardening, so I dusted off my Early Garden blog, put on my gardening hat and wrote Selecting Garden Seed Varieties. Something I should be doing myself now.

I hope all of you get a chance to do some gardening in between your computing. It is truly rewarding.

  20. Rob on February 2nd, 2008 1:28 am

And of course you’ll see what happens when you copy and paste a link using “view source” in my post above :)

That link SHOULD BE Selecting Garden Seed Varieties …. and not pointing at Eric’s blog. Sorry Eric!

    Oh the embarrassment!

This will count as my OPAD day 1 post even though I actually have another one out there, I think … but hey, what’s a few extra posts … it’s about content, after all, isn’t it? Like Kathleen and some others have mentioned I am scattering these OPAD entries across several blogs … might as well get maximum exposure.

Eric, I put a comment with a link on here and on the Day 2 blog, and neither of them are showing up. I put them both in yesterday. Can you please let me know why my comments aren’t appearing? Thanks.

  39. Eric Giguere on February 5th, 2008 9:39 am

Rich, I wasn’t looking at the Akismet spam queue, just the moderation queue. I’ll check both queues from now on to make sure no one’s entries get caught again like that. I de-spammed several entries, including yours. Sorry about that!

    Hi!

Today’s article is all about beginner marketing on the net. It is posted on my blog and in directories, like:
    http://goarticles.com/http://goarticles.com/cgi-bin/search.cgi
This particular directory lists them according to date.

How to Start Marketing Your Online Business On a Shoe-string Budget

Starting your business online does not have to be expensive. Marketing your business on the net is the best way of growing a residual income and building your goal of financial freedom.

The two most important factors to consider in starting your own Internet marketing business are time and financial resources. You need to accept the fact that in order to make money, you must have at your disposal sufficient time and financial resources. It is not advisable to start your online business if you are not prepared to sacrifice sufficient funds and time in order to be able to sustain your own business in the long run. Keep in mind that everything worth doing is worth doing well.

Getting a large amount of web traffic to your online business site is your main priority in starting your Internet marketing business. You can achieve it through advertising your site. However, you will soon find out that the cost of advertising is not cheap! So, how then can you get good traffic and convert them into long-term clients without blowing your budget? Keep in mind that without a strong clientele base, your internet career does not get off the ground.

Despite the hype and popular belief on the internet that promotion without pricey advertising is not effective, there are targeted free to low-cost alternative methods of advertising your Internet business. Do not be misled by the common misconception that free or low-cost advertising does not work. The fact is that it will promote your business and it will help you get the targeted traffic that you need.

On the contrary, the most expensive advertising mediums do not always work. Confidence and ingenuity go a long way to making your brand of marketing as effective as the expensive advertising packages on the Internet.

The best way of advertising to consider is writing original descriptive articles that will inform your website visitors about your business and the products and services that you are offering. Write your own original articles and distribute them to free or low-cost article directories. Through them your articles will be distributed to publishers around the Internet. For a wider distribution of your articles, some directories have the option to provide increased awareness for a small fee.

Once your articles are distributed and published around the Internet with hyperlinks directing to your site, you will have your first set of new web visitors in no time. If you do not want to write the articles yourself, there are good article writing services that will do the job for a small fee. Article writing and distribution is one of the best means of Internet marketing promotion.

Just like article writing, weblogs, simply called blogs, are also very effective for your Internet marketing business promotion. Blogs are completely free of charge and an ideal way of getting quality content on your website as well as getting repeat visitors who are interested in reading what you have to say. You can write about your business and include photographs of the products you are offering. Do not forget to include your site’s link on your blogs so that your readers can visit your site if they want more information.

Posting to online forums is another free yet effective way of getting your hyperlinks noticed by Internet users. There are thousands of online discussion forums that are related to the nature of your online business. You may also help other individuals by posting your comments or suggestions that you know with regards to a certain issue. The more assistance you offer, the more your name will stand out as an authority on the subject, and the more likely forum readers will click on your website hyperlink to find out more about you. It is one of the best ways of making sales without even selling actual products or services because they now trust you!

Why spend a lot if there are free and low-cost advertising alternatives for your internet marketing promotion? With some careful planning and little spending, you will be able to soon profit from your online business.

    Thanks for your challenge, Eric!
