New colors for referral buttons
The AdSense team must be trying to wrap up a few projects before Christmas. I already mentioned the new holiday themed ads option and the ability to email reports. Well, there's more:
- As Jensense notes, there are two new colors (green and blue) available for the AdSense referral buttons. I don't know why they don't just provide a wide range of these, it should be easy enough to automate the button-building process within Google.
- There are link unit improvements. The link units themselves haven't changed, but the page they link to has. Try it on your own site — you can click link units without fear as long as you don't click the ads themselves on the landing page. The changes aren't immediately obvious to me — bigger fonts, maybe, to match the new bigger font sizes on Google's search results page?
- You can now remove the Google logo from the Google search box by replacing the “Submit” button with one labeled “Google Search”. I still wish they'd offer more flexibility here, though AdSense for search isn't really that widely used and is not a big money-maker for anyone so it's not a priority for most people.
Wonder what other changes are in store before Christmas?
