Making money from Google Base

Well, as I try to resolve my domain naming problems with Google, I thought readers might find Shoemoney's posting $10,000 a day from Google Base very interesting. It's funny how people can always find tricks and techniques to milk a new system for money. I'm not suggesting that you go out and do this, but it's certainly mind-boggling how much money these people can make when they put some effort into it.

Google Base, by the way, is Google's new free-form database system for tagging and finding information. I'm going to be writing about it soon, maybe even a book, if you're interested in hearing more let me know.

This technique, by the way, is very similar to what many sites do to make money with AdSense. This guy finds high-paying affiliate sites and creates content (apparently very compelling!) that drives traffic to the affiliate sites. It's analogous to what some AdSense publishers do, which is create content that drives traffic to high-paying ads. Of course, adult-oriented sites are not allowed to display AdSense advertisements, so the exact same technique won't work there.

Sign up for my AdSense newsletter, by the way, and I'll send you a tip that shows how to use Google Base to drive some more traffic to your site. For a sample of the kind of articles you get in my newsletter, see How to create your own Google-like ad, which I gave permission to Andrew Bourland to reprint in his own blog.
