Keyword Density Tools
If the pages you're creating don't seem to be showing the right kinds of AdSense ads, it could be that the wrong keywords have prominence on the page. I talk about this is my book. An easy way to check this is use a keyword density analyzer. You can buy software for this or use one of the free sites on the Web, such as these two:
Of the two, I prefer the first one, it's more comprehensive.
The downside to using these tools is that they can only analyze pages that are publically accessible. If you're developing a page on your computer, you might want to investigate an offline solution instead. There seem to be a number of software packages out there that do the same thing, but I haven't investigated any of them yet. Feel free to leave comments with your opinions about them.
When checking for keyword density, remember that you don't want your text to be too dense with your keywords, otherwise seach engines will flag it as spam. Anywhere from 5% to 20% seems to be the range the experts agree on.
What if you can't get the right ads to appear on the page despite a good keyword density? Or what if you just can't the density up no matter what? Well, there's nothing that says you have to show ads on each and every page of your site. Or if you do show ads everywhere, make sure you have an alternate ad defined and use a different ad service or else promote something through an affiliate program whenever AdSense can't display an ad. Some people have also been getting good results by showing the AdSense ad links units on those kinds of pages.
