Ice skating in hell: Chitika pays!
Yes, folks, it's true: Chitika actually pays! The payments for December earnings went out yesterday, I received my small payment last night for the Invisible Fence Guide. My sister got a heftier payment for Stroller Advisor — in her case, Chitika beats out AdSense, which is not surprising given how product-focused her site is.
So at this point I can recommend Chitika's eMiniMalls to all my readers. (Do me a favor and use my affiliate link to sign up…) Despite the excessive hype at the beginning, and the several missteps they made over the last four months, it looks like it's a worthwhile advertising program for some sites. No advertising program fits every site, of course, and Chitika works best for product-oriented sites that:
- are in English;
- have a natural fit with one or more of the Chitika product categories; and
- whose audience is primarily North American or European
Note that I'm not recommending you remove AdSense from your site. The eMiniMalls units can be used with AdSense in non-contextual mode (the default). Having AdSense there gives you another revenue stream.
