I gave Technorati the boot
Despite following their instructions for reclaiming an old blog at a new address, Technorati managed to fail me yet again. So rather than complain to them again and get no answer, I bit the bullet and gave Technorati the boot. Yes, I deleted both claims to this blog, including the original one that had slowly climbed into the 30,000s in the rankings.
After waiting a bit, I've now reclaimed the blog under its new address. Its ranking now stands at 1,125,742, a huge drop, but it had to be done. Hopefully my regular readers will start linking back to me again and I'll manage to get a decent rating again in a few months time.
Again, this shows you what can happen when you move your blog, despite your best efforts and intentions. Still, I had to do it, and I'm prepared to pay the consequences. Just be sure to follow the steps I outlined previously to minimize the damage.
