How to Report AdSense Misuse to Google
Writer friends of mine just came across a site that was illegally offering free downloads of commercial, in-print books, including some of their own. They were wondering where to report the site to make sure the offending page gets removed. It's sometimes very hard to track down the parties responsible for the content of a site. Luckily, many of these sites have an easy way to report abuse: via their AdSense ads.
AdSense publishers are bound by the AdSense Terms and Conditions and the AdSense Program Policies to not distribute copyrighted material without permission. So what do you do if you come across a website or blog that is violating those policies?
The quickest and simplest thing to do is to click on the “Ads by Google” (or “Ads by Goooooogle”) link at the top or bottom of an ad unit:

You'll be sent to a page promoting the AdWords and AdSense programs. But if you scroll to the bottom of the page you'll see a “Send Google your thoughts on the ads you just saw” link:

Click this link and a little form appears where you can report the violation:

You don't have to include the URL of the offending site, it gets included automatically when you submit the report. And you can stay anonymous if you wish.
Someone at Google will investigate the report and suspend or terminate the publisher's account if they're in violation. That should get the site owner's attention!
