Google Pays You To Steal From Microsoft

April 3rd, 2007 by Eric Giguere Leave a reply »

Well, it's official, Google is now paying you to steal from Microsoft. Steal users of Microsoft Office, that is.

What they've done is add Google Apps as a referral product that AdSense publishers can promote, along with AdSense, AdWords, Firefox, Google Pack and Google Checkout. They'll give you $5 per referral if certain conditions are met. It appears to be open only to US publishers right now, though they don't actually state that. As a Canadian, I can't yet choose the Google Checkout and Google Apps referral options.

Given that Google Apps is relatively new and probably not known to a lot of people, it might be worth your while slapping up a page or two about it, including your referral button/link on it, and then sending some traffic to the page. If you're anti-Microsoft, you may find particular pleasure in weaning people away from Office :-)
