Best AdSense Resources of 2005 winners!

My “Best AdSense Resources of 2005″ poll closed a couple of days ago and here are the results. There wasn't as much voting as I'd hoped, but there were some interesting and unexpected nominations. Overall, though, I wasn't surprised by who won.

In the Book category, Joel Comm's book was the winner by a large margin:

• Google AdSense Secrets (Joel Comm) — 15 votes
• The Definitive Guide to Google AdSense (William Charlwood) — 2 votes
• Paul Short — 2 votes
• Building Your Own AdSense Empire (Craig Thornburrow) — 1 vote

In the Blog category, ProBlogger won over JenSense:

• ProBlogger — 36 votes
• JenSense — 26 votes
• AdMoolah — 3 votes
• Nice-Ideas (Site focussed on New Webmasters and bloggers to benefit from Adsense) — 3 votes
• AdsenseMaster — 2 votes
• Jennifer Laycock (Personal attempt to earn money from scratch with a new blog. ) — 2 votes

In the Case Study category, the Ask The Builder case study won out:

• Ask the Builder — 20 votes
• XooXonline (MBA preparation forums) — 4 votes
• XooXonline Domains — 3 votes
• Abdylas Tynyshov — 1 vote
• Buster Tests — 1 vote

In the Forum category, the Digital Point AdSense Forum was voted the best:

• Digital Point AdSense Forum — 28 votes
• Webmaster World AdSense Forum — 18 votes
• AdSense Freakz — 10 votes
• AdSense Chat (Joel Comm's forums) — 2 votes
• Iambanned.com — 2 votes

In the Personality category, Darren Rowse (ProBlogger) once again bested Jennifer Slag (JenSense):

• Darren Rowse (ProBlogger) — 34 votes
• Jennifer Sleg (Jenstar, JenSense) — 19 votes
• Joel Comm (his ebook multiplied my income 10 times over!) — 4 votes

I was surprised that there were no other nominations for that one — are we lacking in “personalities” in the AdSense world?

The voting for the best Tool was tight, with the AdSense Notifier just squeaking by:

• AdSense Notifier (Firefox extension) — 12 votes
• Adsense Preview Tool for Firefox and IE (Compares Adsense with Chitika and YPN - available as a Firefox extension or IE Addon) — 11 votes
• Digital Point AdSense Sandbox — 10 votes
• CashKeywords.com (Boost Adsense Profits with tool for finding top paying keywords) — 10 votes
• Overture Bid Tool (Felt we needed more choices for the tools. So many quality ones out there.) — 9 votes

Finally, the best Website vote ended in a tie between Wikipedia and About-AdSense.com:

• about-adsense.com — 9 votes
• en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adsense (Wikipedia entry for AdSense) — 9 votes
• AdSense Freakz — 8 votes
• Adsense tip (Everything you have to know about adsense) — 3 votes
• Adsense Optimized — 2 votes

My wife (a market researcher) wouldn't be impressed by this poll, it's completely unscientific like most online polls. I think what's best about it is that it exposed many people to some new resources they hadn't heard of — several readers told me that's what they really enjoyed about the poll.

Kudos to the winners. Unfortunately, I have no prizes to give other than some free publicity!
