Amazon's new Simple Storage Service
This may interest a few of my readers, although I realize it's not directly related to contextual advertising. Don't worry, I'll have some follow-up comments about Pounce on that niche! later today.
I've mentioned Amazon Web Services before, such as when I discussed my Amazon product viewer tool. Well, Amazon keeps trying to monetize the infrastructure it's developed over the years to support its e-commerce offerings, and now they're offering the Simple Storage Service, or S3 for short. S3 lets third parties store arbitrary information in Amazon's data services. The amount of data you can store is basically unlimited — you pay monthly fees for storage and for data transfer. This could be useful for anyone who needs fast, reliable data storage that can be used a-la-carte. Something to check out if you're building distributed applications.
