Affiliate Video Brander’s One-Time Offer

For my 40th birthday last month my wife got me a new digital camera, a Canon PowerShot SD1000. It’s a real beauty compared to what I was using before. I especially like the fact that the shutter lag time is essentially gone when compared to the PowerShot S45 I’d been using up to now. You can learn more from my Canon PowerShot SD1000 review up on Squidoo. Below is an action shot I took recently with the camera.

One of the things I’ve been doing with the camera is making videos. This surprised me, but it shoots great quality videos (up to 640 by 480 pixels resolution) and SD memory cards are so cheap right now that I hardly want to use my (very old) videocam anymore. Transferring the videos to a computer is super easy using a USB 2.0 cable and the included ZoomBrowser EX software.

Anyhow, I started looking around for some video software to use. As it happens, yesterday Affiliate Video Brander was released and it came with a nice set of software, so I bought it. It’s too early for me to do a full review, though. When I get things figured out maybe I’ll put up an AdSense-related video or two on this blog. (Exciting, I know…)

What I wanted to talk about was the one-time offer (OTO) that you’re presented with after you buy Affiliate Video Brander. One-time offers are de rigueur these days — pretty much everything I’ve bought online recently has one. See The One-Time Offer for a detailed explanation of why they’re popular and some strategies to beat them.

Anyhow, the Affiliate Video Brander OTO is a set of 14 videos about Internet marketing products. You’re allowed to rebrand the videos with your affiliate links and distribute the branded videos however you want. What they don’t provide you is a list of what products the videos cover. Well, here’s the list:

The quality of the videos varies, of course. Some are for very recent products (like Day Job Killer). The ClickBank video was disappointing because it shows the old ClickBank interface — I don’t think it should have been included.

Anyhow, I thought this information would be useful to those of you thinking about buying Affiliate Video Brander.

I get a kick out of these guys trying to sell video products by using the most amatuerish video editing techniques around. I couldn’t even finish watching the video because I was laughing so hard at the guy’s Shaggy haircut (ruh-roh!) and the ridiculous jumpcuts in the vid itself. Those swirling digital backgrounds make me crazy, too. It’s becoming the signature of internet marketing bozos everywhere. Who thinks these things look good? Jumpcuts haven’t been seen on video screens now for about 25-30 years. I’m sure the product itself is fine, but the video advertising it blows chunks. Joel Comm did the same with his first N.I.M. video. It was so poorly done that for the first few days, more people were talking about how bad the video was instead of the competition. C’mon, people…show some respect for your audience! If you don’t know the world of video, spend some tiny fraction of these millions y’all have “made on the internet” and outsource the work to somebody who can make you look less clueless. LOL…
